Discovering Policies to Support Retirement Preparation: Joint Forum by Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Ministry of Education
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 29th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Education announced on the 28th that they will jointly hold the ‘7th Gwanghwamun 1st Street Open Communication Forum’ and the ‘3rd Social Policy Forum’ under the theme of ‘Happy Retirement Life Prepared Together by All Generations.’
The forum, held online, will be conducted in two parts: Part 1 is a public forum live-streamed on YouTube (Gwanghwamun 1st Street Open Communication Forum), and Part 2 consists of small group discussions.
Part 1 will open with a keynote introduction by Lee Sang-won, Deputy Minister of Education. Deputy Minister Lee will emphasize that happy retirement life requires preparation across all generations in all areas of life and will discuss the importance of creating citizen-experienced policies through public participation. Part 2 will be small group discussions aimed at discovering policy proposals, where 50 citizens who applied in advance will engage in more in-depth discussions on retirement preparation support policies with professional facilitators.
The public opinions gathered at this forum will be organized into policy proposals through a maturation forum, reviewed by the relevant ministries (until the end of October), and reflected in policies.
