The COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team announced the "COVID-19 Vaccination Q4 Implementation Plan" containing this information on the 27th. This announcement regarding vaccination for pregnant women follows the recommendation made by the Vaccination Expert Committee on the 25th of last month, which recognized that pregnant women are a high-risk group for COVID-19, that there have been no safety issues reported with vaccination so far, and that vaccination is recommended globally, thus advising their inclusion as vaccination targets.
Accordingly, all 136,000 pregnant women will be provided with vaccination opportunities and related information to encourage voluntary vaccination decisions. However, for those with underlying conditions or in early pregnancy under 12 weeks, it is recommended to have a medical examination of the mother and fetus before vaccination.
Pre-registration for vaccination for these individuals will begin on the 8th of next month. When making a reservation, pregnant women must personally enter information such as pregnancy status and expected delivery date in advance so that medical staff can be informed at the time of vaccination. In cases of leftover vaccine vaccinations, medical institutions should be informed to input this information during vaccination.
