Jeonbuk 54.55%·Cumulative 53% Boosted Lee Jae-myung "Daejang-dong Facts Are Important... People Power Party Construction Corruption Connection" (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, who is maintaining a majority vote share and continuing his "trend," stated on the 26th regarding the Daejang-dong preferential treatment allegations, "Ultimately, facts are important. This case is a connection between the People Power Party and construction corruption."
In the Jeonbuk regional primary of the Democratic Party of Korea announced that day, Lee Jae-myung recorded 54.55% of the vote, ranking first. Lee maintained a cumulative vote share of 53.01%. Former Representative Lee, who received 15,715 votes, recorded 38.48%, remaining in second place with a gap of 16.07 percentage points. Following were candidates Chu Mi-ae (5.21%), Park Yong-jin (1.25%), and Kim Doo-kwan (0.51%).
Looking at the cumulative vote share including the Jeonbuk primary results, Lee secured a total of 341,858 votes with a vote share of 53.01%, still holding a majority. Former Representative Lee is trailing with a cumulative vote share of 34.48% (222,353 votes), behind Lee by 18.53 percentage points.
After the primary announcement, in response to reporters' questions about the Daejang-dong preferential treatment allegations, Lee said, "Fake news, forced interpretations, and shameless accusations cannot change public sentiment. The people have 100 million eyes and ears to listen and see, more than the two ears and two eyes that the media has." Regarding his primary victory, he said, "I think we won more than expected across the Honam region," adding, "This overwhelming primary victory reflects the collective intelligence of the Honam group aiming to minimize internal fractures and enhance competitiveness in the general election."
On the same day, Representative Kim Doo-kwan declared his withdrawal from the presidential primary candidacy. He said, "More important than my (primary) completion is the reestablishment of the regime a hundred or a thousand times," and declared support for Lee Jae-myung, saying, "Candidate Lee Jae-myung is a capable leader who will pioneer the future. Please give strength to Candidate Lee Jae-myung."

Former Representative Lee Nak-yeon said immediately after the primary announcement to reporters, "As I have done so far, I think the only way is to sincerely convey my true feelings and appeal for support." Regarding Representative Kim's declaration of support for Lee, he said, "It is his freedom. I will accept what I should regarding his national balanced development policy."
