Sejong City Strengthens 'Vehicle License Plate Seizure' for Delinquents Until Year-End
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City announced on the 25th that it will strengthen the vehicle license plate seizure activities for those who have unpaid fines related to automobiles until the end of the year.
The target for license plate seizure are defaulters who have not paid fines of 300,000 KRW or more for over 60 days, imposed for violations such as illegal parking, lack of compulsory insurance, and delayed vehicle inspection.
Earlier in June, the city sent seizure warning notices to the targets, informing them that if delinquent vehicles are found during enforcement, their vehicle registration license plates will be immediately seized.
Once the license plate is seized, the vehicle cannot be operated, and the seized license plate can only be returned after full payment of the outstanding fines.
