The CU Core Competency Certification System is designed to cultivate outstanding talent by using a core competency certification system that converts students' individual curricular and non-curricular activities into scores for systematic management and support. Benefits are provided upon graduation if the certification criteria are met, and the system has been applied since the 2020 academic year for new students.
The explanatory session held on the 15th was organized in response to demand for a session targeting current students, based on feedback from an online session for faculty members of each college held last month, and was conducted as a small-scale offline event to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Through this explanatory session for student council presidents of each college, the Center for Non-Curricular Integrated Management plans to promote the CU Core Competency Certification System from the perspective of students who actually participate in the programs, aiming to activate the program.
Additionally, an online explanatory session will be held for representatives of first- and second-year students in departments and faculties of each college to continuously integrate and manage participants in the CU Core Competency Certification System.
Kim Ji-hyun, head of the Center for Non-Curricular Integrated Management at the Institute for Educational Innovation, said, “We hope that the ripple effect of the explanatory session through the student council presidents of each college will lead to all students showing interest in the CU Core Competency Certification System and actively participating in non-curricular programs.”
