Gwangju University Hosts the 19th National High School Student Design Competition
From the 25th of next month, postal applications accepted, with prize money and scholarship benefits upon admission
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Gwangju University (President Kim Hyuk-jong) announced on the 23rd that it will hold the "19th National High School Student Design Competition."
This competition, which showcases the creative ideas and lively sculptural expressions of high school students nationwide, was prepared to discover and nurture talents who will lead the knowledge-intensive design industry in the future society centered on 21st-century information culture.
Eligibility for submission includes students currently enrolled in humanities and vocational high schools nationwide, or equivalent educational institutions recognized for academic achievement, as well as exam preparation students certified by the head of an art academy.
The submission period is from October 25 to November 1 until 6 PM, and entries should be sent by mail to the Department of Fashion and Jewelry at Gwangju University.
The submission categories include ▲Basic Design ▲Change of Thinking ▲Idea and Expression ▲Sketch ▲Painting ▲Public Interest Poster ▲Illustration ▲Character ▲Woodcraft ▲Furniture ▲Metal Craft ▲Precious Metal Craft ▲Jewelry Design ▲3D Printing ▲Fashion Design ▲Rendering ▲Web Design ▲Animation ▲Fashion Croquis, among others.
The size specifications for works are within A1 SIZE for two-dimensional pieces, and within 1m width × 1m depth × 1m height for three-dimensional works.
Awards include the President’s Award, Grand Prize, Excellence Award, Encouragement Award, Special Selection, Honorable Mention, and Outstanding Instructor Award, which will be announced on November 8. All awardees will receive certificates and prize money, and scholarships will be granted upon admission to Gwangju University.
