View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People’s Party, raised his voice of criticism on the 22nd, saying, "The current administration prioritizes 'North Korea first,' not 'people first.'"
On the same day, Ahn stated on Facebook, "One year ago today, a South Korean Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries official was shot and burned by North Korean soldiers."
He pointed out, "It was recently revealed that the government had not even secured the basic information of the missing person's location coordinates in the missing case," adding, "Yet the government lied to the bereaved families, saying that although they had the information, they could not disclose it because it was a military secret."
Furthermore, Ahn said, "The bereaved families have two demands for the truth to be uncovered: First, if by any chance it was a defection to the North, at least provide the evidence; second, inform us what efforts the state made to save the citizen’s life at the time of the incident." He criticized, "However, the current administration dismisses the families' demands, saying, 'We cannot disclose it as it could significantly harm the national interest, such as promoting peace on the Korean Peninsula and military alert posture.'"
He also said, "They shot and burned a South Korean citizen, but claim it cannot be helped because of 'peace' and 'national interest.' Even when North Korea conducts missile provocations and restarts the Yongbyon nuclear facility, the 'Korean Peninsula peace process' comes first. This is a rare reversal of cause and effect seen only in abnormal states."

Then Ahn asked, "A country that abandons the lives and safety of its people, swept up in outdated nationalism ideology and ethnic passion. Is this the country we want?" He addressed the current administration that came to power with the slogan 'Is this the country?' saying, "Is this the country?" and concluded, "We do not need such a government."
