Drunk Police Official Sent to Prosecution for Harassing Unfamiliar Woman
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A police officer was sent to the prosecution for assaulting a pedestrian and a police officer who tried to stop him after following and talking to an unknown woman while intoxicated.
Seoul Gwanak Police Station announced on the 20th that suspect Officer A was sent to the prosecution on charges of obstruction of official duties and property damage.
According to the police, Officer A is accused of following a woman while intoxicated and talking to her in an alley in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, around 11 p.m. on July 6, and assaulting a pedestrian who tried to stop him by slapping the pedestrian's cheek.
He also knocked over and damaged a motorcycle parked by the roadside and assaulted a police officer after being taken to a nearby police station. Although assault charges were applied when Officer A was booked, this part was dismissed due to the victim withdrawing the complaint after reaching a settlement.
