Police Launch Preliminary Investigation into Hwacheondaeyu Amid Controversy over Preferential Treatment in Development Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] It has been confirmed that the police have initiated a pre-booking investigation (internal inquiry) into 'Hwacheon Daeyu,' which has been embroiled in controversy over preferential treatment allegations in the Daejang-dong development project in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province.
A police official stated on the 17th, "Currently, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul is conducting a pre-booking investigation," adding, "It is difficult to provide detailed information."
The police reportedly began the pre-booking investigation after receiving an official document from the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Financial Services Commission, indicating suspicious money flow related to Hwacheon Daeyu.
