[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Yoon Seok-yeol, former Prosecutor General and presidential candidate of the People Power Party, faced strong opposition from members of conservative groups such as the Our Republican Party when he attempted to visit the birthplace of former President Park Chung-hee. Members of the Our Republican Party shouted phrases like "fake show" and "wordplay" to resist Yoon's memorial visit schedule.
On the 17th, Yoon posted on social media (SNS) that "I visited President Park Chung-hee's birthplace," adding, "Due to various circumstances, I was unable to tour the entire birthplace and had to pay respects at the memorial hall." In fact, hundreds of people claiming to support former President Park Geun-hye gathered around the birthplace of former President Park Chung-hee that day, blocking Yoon's entry.
