Gyeongbuk Yeongju City Hosts 'Warm Heart' Sharing Tour for Chuseok... Gifts Daily Necessities to 1,180 People at 34 Welfare Facilities
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Yeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province, is sharing warmth by delivering Chuseok gifts to welfare facilities for the elderly and disabled within the jurisdiction from the 15th to the 17th.
The Chuseok visit is an event for 1,180 residents living in 34 welfare facilities. The support items were chosen as daily necessities such as toilet paper and body wash, which the facility residents need.
This visit was conducted by meeting a minimum number of officials, including the director and secretary-general, outside the facilities in accordance with social distancing measures. They also listened to the difficulties faced by facility staff fighting COVID-19 and the hardships of the residents.
Jang Wook-hyun, Mayor of Yeongju City, said, “It is regrettable that we cannot meet in person to convey our feelings due to COVID-19, but at times like this, sharing warm affection with neighbors who are easily isolated will be a source of strength for them.”
