Mokpo City, Additional Selection of Youth-Specialized Customized Local Industry
Ministry of Employment and Labor Mokpo Branch, Mokpo National University, and Others Hold Online Job Fair for Youth Recruitment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seung-hyun Jeong] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 15th that it has been selected for an additional public offering of the Youth Specialized Support Project under the 2021 Regional and Industry Customized Job Project.
The Youth Specialized Support Project is a public project by the Ministry of Employment and Labor that selects and supports projects suitable for the region and industry targeting local youth. This public offering is the 4th round of the Regional Industry Customized Job Project, and the city achieved results through close cooperation with the Mokpo branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Mokpo National University.
The name of this public offering is the "Youth Recruitment Online Job Fair," which provides job mentoring, employment education, and recruitment information to graduates of Mokpo National University, nearby universities, and specialized high schools, covering employment linkage and follow-up management. To this end, a youth employment council will be formed, and a webpage will be established to provide a one-stop employment support service from job training to employment linkage. The project period is until December 2021, and Mokpo National University will carry out the project.
The city expects to provide better employment opportunities by offering excellent job information in Gwangju and Jeonnam to local youth through this project, which is 100% funded by national funds without any local government expenses.
Going forward, the city plans to actively apply for national public projects in specialized fields such as women, youth, and middle-aged workers to create new jobs and revitalize the local economy through support for employment and start-ups.
Meanwhile, the city is currently conducting five regional industry customized support projects: ▲ Fisheries Food Employment Support ▲ Fisheries Food Start-up Support ▲ Mokpo 9mi (Taste) Employment and Start-up Support Project ▲ Shipbuilding, Ship, and Offshore Plant Maintenance Expert Training Project ▲ Startup and Start-up Consulting Project.
The Fisheries Food Employment Support aimed to connect 200 people to jobs through company-customized employment linkage programs and Good Job (small and medium enterprises) awareness improvement programs, achieving employment for 204 people, exceeding the target.
In the Fisheries Food Start-up Support, 11 out of 15 applicants completed business registration, and 2 more are preparing to start a business.
For the Mokpo 9mi (Taste) Employment and Start-up Support Project, 16 people participated in the training, and after the employment competition in September, 12 start-up candidates will be supported.
