Gyeongsang National University 2022 Academic Year Integrated University First Early Admission Competition Rate 6.06 to 1 ... 2,844 More Applicants Compared to Previous Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gyeongsang National University received applications for the first early admission of the integrated university for the 2022 academic year, resulting in an average competition rate of 6.06 to 1.
According to Gyeongsang National University on the 15th, this year’s early admission saw 22,589 applicants for 3,730 spots across 14 admission types, including the student record curriculum and comprehensive student record screening, marking an increase of 2,844 applicants compared to the previous year based on the integrated university standard.
By admission type, the comprehensive student record screening for basic livelihood security recipients had the highest competition rate at 11.33 to 1, followed by the student record curriculum regional talent screening at 10.77 to 1, and the comprehensive student record social integration screening at 9.86 to 1.
The general student record curriculum screening recorded the highest number of applicants with 12,477 applying for 2,173 spots, and the general comprehensive student record screening rose to 7.07 to 1 from 2.0 to 1 the previous year.
The admission type and department with the highest competition rate was the general comprehensive student record screening for the Department of Physical Education, which had 68 applicants for 2 spots, resulting in a competition rate of 34 to 1.
Analyzing the application status by region, Gyeongnam had the most applicants with 12,468 (55.20%), followed by Busan with 2,634 (11.66%), Gyeongbuk with 1,334 (5.91%), Jeonnam with 1,276 (5.65%), and Ulsan with 1,108 (4.91%).
The first round of early admission successful candidates will be announced on November 19.
Previously, interviews were conducted for all departments, but starting this year, only the College of Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, College of Education, and College of Social Sciences will hold interviews.
Interviews for the College of Social Sciences, College of Pharmacy, and College of Medicine will be held on November 25, and for the College of Education, College of Veterinary Medicine, and College of Nursing on November 26.
Applicants for practical exams in departments such as the College of Education (Music, Fine Arts, Physical Education) and the Headquarters College II (Human Healthcare Department) must check the practical exam schedules on November 24 and 25. Applicants who do not attend the practical exam and interview will be disqualified.
The final successful candidates for early admission will be announced on December 16.

Meanwhile, regular admission applications will be accepted from December 30 to January 3, 2022, with successful candidates announced on February 8.
