Korea Rail Network Authority Begins Construction of New Jangha Station (Tentative Name) on Sinansan Line Double-Track Electric Railway

View original image[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Rail Network Authority has begun the construction of Jangha Station (tentative name) on the Sinansan Line double-track railway section.
On the 14th, the Rail Network Authority announced that it signed a multilateral agreement with Ansan City, Korea Land and Housing Corporation, Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation, Ansan Urban Corporation, and NextTrain Co., Ltd. to establish Jangha Station on the Seongpo~Mokgam section of the Sinansan Line double-track railway.
Jangha Station was decided to be newly established to improve railway accessibility for residents in the 6.3 km Seongpo~Mokgam section and to reflect the increased need for transportation facilities due to the promotion of the Ansan Jangsang Public Housing District (hereinafter referred to as Jangsang District), as requested by the project implementers of the Jangsang District (Korea Land and Housing Corporation, Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation, Ansan Urban Corporation).
The construction of Jangha Station will be carried out with a project cost of 95.4 billion KRW, aiming for completion in 2026.
The Rail Network Authority will manage all aspects including design, construction, and operation for the establishment of Jangha Station, while the project and operating costs will be borne by the Jangsang District project implementers and Ansan City respectively. Additionally, NextTrain will be responsible for the station's construction and operation.

Kim Han-young, Director of the Rail Network Authority, stated, “The establishment of Jangha Station will enhance transportation convenience for 13,000 households in the Jangsang District and contribute to regional development. The Rail Network Authority will do its best to ensure the project is managed smoothly for the station to open in 2026.”
