"Healthy Dad Develops Colon Necrosis After AZ Vaccine"…Active Nurse's Petition to Blue House
"AZ Matgo Dad Diagnosed with Ischemic Colitis... Still in ICU"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] A, a nurse working at a hospital in Busan, appealed for help, saying that her father was diagnosed with ischemic colitis and underwent colon resection surgery after receiving the second dose of the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine.
On the 13th, a petition titled "My father underwent surgery to create an artificial anus and is currently hospitalized in the intensive care unit after vaccination" was posted on the Blue House National Petition Board. As of 8 a.m. on the 14th, the petition had received over 2,100 signatures.
The petitioner, A, who identified herself as a nurse working at a general hospital in Busan, said, "My younger sister is a 119 rescue worker, so both my sister and I, as medical personnel, were prioritized for COVID-19 vaccination and completed the vaccination safely. Because of this, we also encouraged our parents to get vaccinated. But now, I deeply regret it."
She continued, "My father, who was usually healthy without any underlying diseases or common conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes, was diagnosed with ischemic colitis after the second AZ vaccination and underwent emergency resection of 15 to 20 cm of his colon. Afterwards, he had surgery to create an artificial anus and is currently in the intensive care unit of a university hospital, still unconscious and on a ventilator."
She added, "Two months ago, during a gastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy screening, he had a colon polyp removed and showed no significant abnormal findings except for mild gastritis."

On the night of the 31st of the same month, he suffered from severe abdominal pain, bloody stools, and diarrhea. Eventually, he visited the vaccination hospital and was immediately transferred to the emergency room.
A explained, "At the emergency room, they said his intestines were swollen and diagnosed him with 'esophageal ulcer.' On September 5th, his oxygen saturation dropped, and he experienced respiratory distress, so he was moved to the internal medicine intensive care unit and put on a ventilator. On the 6th, after a pancreatic CT scan, he was found to have pulmonary edema and underwent 24-hour dialysis. On the 8th, he was diagnosed with ischemic colitis through a colonoscopy and underwent emergency surgery."
She said, "(My father) had severe necrosis and decay in his colon, so part of it was removed, and he had surgery to create an artificial anus. However, even on his birthday, he remains in the intensive care unit on a ventilator, unconscious, with no sign of waking up."
She also pointed out, "I thought vaccine side effects were something distant from me. Even I, a medical professional, trusted the government and am still getting vaccinated. The government currently recommends vaccination, and we hope the COVID-19 situation will improve. However, despite the increasing number of adverse reactions, there is still no proper system in place for how to report them, what documents are needed, or how the process is handled."

Finally, A emphasized, "Before the surgery, the hospital bills alone have already reached 8 million won. The vaccine, which I took hoping to live healthily and happily without pain, is destroying my family’s happiness. I urge a thorough investigation into the causal relationship with the vaccine so that no more victims like my father will occur."
