Development Plan to Be Finalized and Announced by Second Half of the Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education will hold an online public hearing at 2:40 PM on the 15th to establish the 'Teacher Training System Development Plan.'
The Teacher Training System Development Plan includes the introduction of an educational practicum semester system to improve teacher training curricula, a reduction in the scale of secondary teacher training by 2026, a plan to complete interdisciplinary majors linked with first-grade master teacher training, and a plan to train common subjects for secondary teachers centered on colleges of education.
The public hearing will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel 'Education Ministry TV,' and anyone interested can participate and express their opinions through comments.
The Ministry of Education conducted three thematic discussion sessions, and this public hearing is the final opinion-gathering process. To allow anyone in the public to express their opinions after reviewing the development plan and discussion papers, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission has prepared the 'People's Idea Box,' which will collect opinions until October 1.

Opinions proposed by the public through four rounds of nationwide discussions will be discussed by the Teacher Training System Innovation Committee. The Ministry of Education plans to finalize and announce the development plan by the second half of this year.
