[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced on the 14th that it will recruit sharing enterprises in the second half of the year to discover companies and organizations that contribute to urban issues through sharing and to spread the culture of sharing throughout society. The main targets for application are those who aim to ‘share’ resources in new ways suitable for the post-COVID-19 era and provide convenient services to citizens.
To become a Seoul sharing enterprise, the entity must be a small or medium-sized enterprise under the Small and Medium Business Promotion Act, or a corporation in the form of a social enterprise or cooperative. Sharing organizations must qualify as non-profit private organizations or non-profit corporations and be able to provide evidence of at least six months of activity using the ‘sharing’ method as a company or organization.
The application period is from the 15th to the 17th, and applicants can apply by accessing the Seoul Sharing Hub and uploading the application form and business plan. After screening, designated sharing enterprises will be granted a certificate in the name of the Mayor of Seoul and the right to use the 'Sharing Seoul Logo (BI)', and can maintain their sharing enterprise status for three years. They will also receive opportunities for next year’s project funding, consulting, and promotion support. Since 2013 until the first half of 2021, Seoul City has supported 146 sharing enterprises with a total project budget of 2.738 billion KRW.
