US Aims to Cut Aircraft Carbon Emissions by 20% by 2030
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] The Joe Biden administration in the United States has announced a plan to reduce aircraft carbon emissions by 20% by 2030 to address climate change.
According to AFP and others on the 9th (local time), this plan is part of President Biden's goal to make the U.S. a carbon-neutral country by 2050.
The White House explained, "Aircraft emissions account for 11% of transportation-related carbon emissions in the U.S.," adding, "If we want to put the aviation industry and economy on track to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, addressing this source of pollution is essential."
