Suncheon City Hosts Lecture Featuring Suncheon’s Representative Writer 'Seo Jeong-in'

[Suncheon - Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 8th that it will hold a "Meeting with Suncheon's Representative Writer" event by inviting novelist Seo Jeong-in at Samsan Library around 2 p.m. on the 11th.
Seo Jeong-in, who is recognized for consistently practicing experimental novel writing and expanding the horizons of Korean novels both qualitatively and quantitatively, will give a lecture on the theme "My Literature, Korean Literature, World Literature" at this event.
Born in Suncheon in 1936, Seo Jeong-in graduated from Suncheon High School, then from Seoul National University’s Department of English Literature and its graduate school, and studied English literature at Harvard University in the United States.
He began his literary career in 1962 by publishing the short story "Husong" in the magazine "Sasanggae," and subsequently published works such as "River," "Our Neighborhood," "Nammun-dong," and "Dwiggae," which showcase his distinctive restraint, establishing himself as a stylist in the Korean literary world.
Meeting the novelist Seo Jeong-in, who rarely appears before readers, is expected to be a great joy for literature-loving readers in the Suncheon area.
