Sony Music Korea Appoints Joo Young-chan as New CEO
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Global record label Sony Music Entertainment Korea (SMEK) announced on the 8th that it has appointed Joo Youngchan as its new CEO.
CEO Joo Youngchan has overseen investment and distribution, A&R and management, as well as K-pop overseas marketing at Sony Music Entertainment Korea.
Following former CEO Jang Yoonjoong, CEO Joo will lead the overseas expansion of Sony Music Korea's key K-pop artists and oversee domestic marketing for overseas artists affiliated with the headquarters. Sony Music headquarters plans to strengthen the capabilities of its Korean branch and solidify strategic partnerships with local management through this appointment.
