[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the afternoon of the 8th, Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held a residents' briefing session for the establishment of the Coupang logistics center at the county office's large conference room, attended by about 40 residents.
This residents' briefing session was held to listen to the opinions of residents and stakeholders regarding the county management plan decision and the draft strategic environmental impact assessment, as part of the administrative procedures for the approval of the Coupang logistics center.
The Coupang logistics center is planned to be built on approximately 55,000 pyeong in the Singwan-ri area, with an investment of 72 billion KRW and plans to employ more than 300 people. It is expected to serve as a delivery hub connecting the east, west, south, and north of the country through a system built using self-developed logistics software and artificial intelligence (AI).
Local residents who attended the briefing expressed interest, saying, "The establishment of the logistics center is expected to create jobs and revitalize the local economy," and "We hope the administrative procedures will be completed soon so that construction of the logistics center can begin."

A county official stated, "As this is a key project of the county to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to COVID-19, and to create large-scale employment, we will spare no administrative support to ensure the project is completed promptly."
