View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Bo-ryeong] Regarding the so-called 'prosecution referral scandal' involving former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, stated, "(Former Prosecutor General Yoon) himself said that he is 'upright' and 'has nothing to be ashamed of'." At the same time, he urged Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo to conduct a prompt inspection.
On the 7th, Lee appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said, "From former Prosecutor General Yoon's perspective, even in terms of formality, it seems that the prosecution referral was not written by a prosecutor."
Lee emphasized, "The referral, which was released as a captured file, appeared to be in a very untidy form. I don't recall the exact expression, but it seemed 'not neatly organized.' Therefore, it is uncertain whether the document was created by the prosecution."
However, when asked, "Then who do you think it was intended for?" Lee drew a line, saying, "Former Prosecutor General Yoon only left a brief impression after seeing the referral, so there is no information to infer or point to someone else."
Lee also said, "Ultimately, the most important thing is whether the origin of this document is inside the prosecution or not," adding, "If, for example, it was produced outside the prosecution and is just being talked about, then it is not a big problem."
He then demanded a prompt inspection by the prosecution. Lee said, "In the case of Representative Kim Woong, he was a former prosecutor but was a civilian at the time. If something is received, it is naturally appropriate to refer it. Therefore, there should be no problem arising from that, but if the person who delivered it to Representative Kim Woong is the problem or if the circumstances under which the document was created are problematic, then it is a serious issue. That is why I hope Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo will quickly proceed with the inspection process."

He continued, "Everyone knows from the time of former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae. When the prosecution decides to conduct an inspection, they do it within a day or two," adding, "If they speed up now and clarify these matters to the public, at least unnecessary debates can be avoided."
