Martial Arts - Korea University and SMEs Sign MOU for Technology Innovation Cooperation Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Su-yeon Woo] The Korea International Trade Association and Korea University announced on the 6th that they signed a business agreement at the COEX Startup Branch in Samseong-dong on the 6th to support digital transformation and overseas expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
This agreement was promoted to continuously innovate technology and resolve technical difficulties for SMEs lacking in-house research capabilities amid the rapid shift to a technology-centered society, and to enhance global competitiveness. Both organizations agreed to ▲ establish an industry-academia technology cooperation platform ▲ support technological innovation for SMEs ▲ discover outstanding startups and support open innovation ▲ assist Korea University-affiliated companies in entering overseas markets.
At the same time as the agreement, the 'SME Technical Difficulty Consultation Meeting' was held, where about 10 professors from Korea University’s departments of electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, food science, and life sciences participated to conduct in-depth one-on-one technical consulting with 25 companies in fields such as daily necessities, machinery, bio, and information and communication technology (IT). In addition, consultants from the Trade Association, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, Korea Technology Finance Corporation, and patent law firms also participated to provide consultations on technology finance support and patents.

The Trade Association plans to continue the technical difficulty consultation meetings with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) on the 14th and with the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) in the fourth quarter.
