Chinese Fans Who Sent BTS Jimin's Plane... Weibo Account Suspended
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] BTS member Jimin's Chinese fans raised a large sum of money to launch an airplane decorated with Jimin's photos, but their social media Weibo account was suspended.
According to local Chinese reports on the 5th, the day before, a Chinese Jimin fan club revealed photos of a Jeju Air plane decorated with Jimin's face and birthday congratulatory messages that began operating in Korea.
This airplane will operate for three months. Birthday congratulatory advertisements were also placed on the boarding passes and paper cups inside the airplane.
After criticism poured in online following the birthday event coverage by Jimin's fans, Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, suspended the Jimin fans' account for 60 days on the same day. Posts related to the birthday event were also deleted.
Weibo emphasized, "We firmly oppose irrational star-following behavior and will deal with it strictly."
