'23 New COVID-19 Cases in Gwangju Mainly Among Foreigners and People in Their 20s'

According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on that day, a total of 23 new confirmed cases were reported, including 22 local infections and 1 imported case.
Among them, 12 cases including 4244, 4251~4254, 4256, and 4262 are related to foreign employment workplaces.
The city issued an administrative order from the 3rd requiring mandatory diagnostic testing at these workplaces, and while 2 cases such as 4216 and 4217 were reported the day before, the number surged within a day.
So far, 2,215 people have been tested, with 14 positive, 2,166 negative, and 35 pending results.
Five people including 4246, 4247, and 4248 were confirmed positive at a temporary screening clinic set up in a foreigner-dense area in Gwangsan-gu.
One case, number 4242, related to a logistics center in Gwangsan-gu is currently in quarantine.
Two cases, 4243 and 4245, are related to previously confirmed patients, and one case, 4262, is an imported case from Mexico.
Investigation into the infection route of case 4250 is currently underway.
By recent type, the highest number of tests, totaling 149, were conducted among foreigners in Gwangsan-gu, followed by 45 cases imported from the Seoul metropolitan area, and 35 cases related to an insurance company in Seo-gu.
As of this month, among the total 173 confirmed cases, 60% were in their 20s to 30s, and 19% were in their 50s to 60s.
