MFDS Reports One Case of Foreign Substance in Low Dead Space Syringe... Detected During Vaccination Preparation Stage
[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (Commissioner Kim Gang-rip) announced on the 3rd that it received one report of foreign substances related to low dead space syringes (LDS syringes) on the 1st and ordered the company to analyze the cause and take corrective and preventive measures.
According to the Ministry, this case was reported in Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, and the foreign substance was presumed to be a fragment from the machine (conveyor belt) used in the manufacturing process. Although it was inside the syringe barrel, it was larger than the diameter of the syringe needle, so it was confirmed that there was no possibility of it mixing into the human body along with the drug.
