Ministry of Economy and Finance-KDI Hold '2021 G20 Global Financial Stability Conference'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Korea Development Institute (KDI) announced on the 5th that they will hold the '2021 G20 Global Financial Stability Conference' at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul, on the 7th. This marks the 7th conference since it was first held in 2013.
This conference will feature speakers such as Professor Frankel from Harvard University, Professor Brunnermeier from Princeton University, and Yoon Sung-kwan, Head of the Electronic Finance Department at the Bank of Korea. In addition, many officials from the governments and central banks of the Group of Twenty (G20) member countries will also attend.

The conference will begin with opening remarks by Lee Eok-won, 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Hong Jang-pyo, President of KDI, and will proceed through a total of four sessions. The main sessions will include presentations and discussions on ▲ the impact of macroeconomic risk factors in the COVID-19 era on international financial markets and responses ▲ the impact of digital currencies on international financial markets and systems ▲ the future and prospects of international financial markets and systems in the post-COVID-19 era.
