CEO Kim Becomes First Master Craftsman in Medical Equipment Manufacturing
53 Excellent Skilled Workers and 4 Skill Transmitters Also Selected

View original image[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea announced on the 3rd that they have selected 11 individuals, including Kim Byungcheol, CEO of Seorin Medicare, as this year’s Masters of Korea. CEO Kim is a business leader in the medical plasma device field, responsible for everything from teeth whitening to skin cancer treatment.
Kim is the first to be chosen as a master in the medical equipment manufacturing industry. He developed a new ‘plasma’ technology that treats skin inflammation and other conditions through powerful sterilization. He commercialized the first medical device in Korea applying plasma technology and has gained recognition for his technical skills overseas. CEO Kim said, "I feel a heavy responsibility to pioneer a new path as the first master in the medical equipment manufacturing sector," adding, "I will go wherever my experience and know-how are needed."
Along with this, the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea selected 53 outstanding skilled technicians, including Song Jaemin, CEO of Kamajong, and 4 skilled technology transmitters, including Kim Sangsoo, CEO of Dongbang Machine Workshop. Skilled technicians are eligible if they have worked in their respective fields for more than 7 years, and transmitters are recognized if they have accumulated over 15 years of experience in traditional fields that form the manufacturing base or where there is concern about generational discontinuity. CEO Song Jaemin was praised for developing fashion cultural products by combining Korean Hangul fonts with cultural heritage architecture, promoting Korea’s unique colors and traditional beauty to the world. CEO Kim Sangsoo produces the country’s only composite forged carving knives.

Employment Minister Ahn Kyungduk emphasized, "Skilled technicians are valuable talents who have greatly contributed to improving skilled technology and driving the development of our country’s industry with their long-cultivated skills and know-how," and added, "The government will actively support the training of prospective technicians based on the excellent skills and field experience of skilled technicians to strengthen Korea as a technology powerhouse."
