Renault Samsung Launches 2022 QM6 Model... 24.84 to 39.08 Million KRW
Approaching 200,000 Units Sold in Just 5 Years Since Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Renault Samsung Motors announced on the 3rd that it has launched the 2022 QM6. The QM6 is Renault Samsung's flagship mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) model.
Since its launch in 2016, the QM6 is Renault Samsung's representative model, approaching a milestone of 200,000 units sold in just five years. From January to August this year, cumulative sales reached 23,692 units, accounting for 61% of Renault Samsung's total sales.
In particular, the QM6 LPe, the only mid-size natural liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) SUV model in Korea, has gained popularity by surpassing 60,000 units in cumulative sales in about two years since its launch. The QM6 LPe also achieved the number one position in domestic LPG vehicle sales. This is due to its cost-effectiveness ("price-performance ratio"), as it can travel 534 km on a 60ℓ LPG refill, costing approximately 57,000 KRW (based on the nationwide average LPG station price in August).
The new QM6 has enhanced its product appeal by adding Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and pedestrian detection functionality in the Autonomous Emergency Braking System (AEBS) to the QM6 LPe, the only mid-size natural LPG SUV model in Korea. Additionally, popular options have been made standard, and the LE and RE trims have been integrated to introduce the new LE Signature trim.
The LE Signature trim, available for the 2022 QM6 GDe and LPe models, offers the existing LE trim's standard features plus ▲full LED rear combination lamps, dynamic turn signals, Hi-Pass system, electronic room mirror, roof rack, electronic parking drive, and one-touch easy folding second-row seats as standard. Furthermore, options such as ventilated seats have been expanded to better meet customer needs.
The new QM6 also adds changes to its existing design strengths. The shark antenna, previously only available with the S-Link 8.7-inch navigation option, is now standard, and the horizontal rear lights, which were not applied to the SE trim before, are now standard, providing a stylish upgrade.
Moreover, Renault Samsung has newly added a second-row seat belt reminder warning function to the QM6 in accordance with new regulations effective from September. When the vehicle starts moving and the rear seat belts are not fastened, a red warning light will illuminate on the cluster display for about 60 seconds.
