Ministry of the Interior and Safety Selects 'Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do' for Presidential Award in Excellence in Information and Communications Cases
Announcement of Results for Local Government Information and Communication Best Practices Presentation Contest
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 3rd that the case of Boryeong City, Chungcheongnam-do, which established a 'Wireless Intelligent Fire Detection System,' won the Presidential Award at the '26th Local Government Information and Communication Best Practice Presentation Contest.'
The Prime Minister's Award was given to Jongno-gu, Seoul Metropolitan City, for the 'Smart Intelligent Screening Control System.' Six cases, including Jeju Special Self-Governing Province's 'Establishment of a Testbed for Quantum Cryptography Communication Technology Using Autonomous Vehicles,' received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award.
The eight selected best cases this time were chosen through a document review from 35 submissions from cities, provinces, and districts nationwide. On the day of the contest, the final presentations determined the winners of the Presidential Award (1), Prime Minister's Award (1), and Minister of the Interior and Safety Award (6).
The case of Boryeong City, Chungcheongnam-do, which won the Presidential Award for 'Establishing a Wireless Intelligent Fire Detection System,' is an example of strengthening safety management by preventing various disasters and accidents and enabling early response through linking wireless fire detectors and CCTV control systems within a traditional market with poor facility conditions. The case of Jongno-gu, Seoul Metropolitan City, which won the Prime Minister's Award for 'Establishing a Smart Intelligent Screening Control System,' was highly evaluated for building a customized screening control system using artificial intelligence technology.
