Yeonggwang-gun to Accept Applications for 'COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund' Starting from the 6th
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 2nd that it will accept applications for the ‘COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund’ starting from the 6th to stabilize the lives of residents who are struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The eligible recipients are households whose combined health insurance premiums imposed in June fall within the bottom 80%. Special criteria apply to dual-income and single-person households.
Single-person households will receive support if their health insurance premium in June was 170,000 KRW or less, regardless of whether they are workplace or regional subscribers. Dual-income households with two or more income earners are considered to have one additional household member for the application of the criteria table.
However, high-asset individuals with a property tax base of 900 million KRW or more last year (equivalent to a publicly announced land price of 1.5 billion KRW) and those with financial income exceeding 20 million KRW (deposits of 1.3 billion KRW) are excluded.
The support amount is 250,000 KRW per person, with no upper limit per household, so it is paid proportionally according to the number of household members, such as 1 million KRW for a four-person household and 1.25 million KRW for a five-person household.
The eligible recipients are about 48,500 people, accounting for approximately 92.4% of the total population of 52,487 in the county (as of the end of June).
Eligibility can be checked in advance by applying through the ‘National Secretary’ notification service or directly from the 6th via credit/debit card company websites or apps, or the National Health Insurance Corporation website.
Applications for support must be made individually by adults born on or before December 31, 2002, while minors receive support through applications made by the head of the household.
In exceptional cases where the eligible recipient cannot apply, proxy applications are possible with relevant documents by legal representatives, registered household members (excluding cohabitants), spouses, and direct ascendants or descendants.
The support funds will be provided via the Yeonggwang Love Card or credit/debit cards.
Online applications will start from the 6th through credit/debit card company websites or the Yeonggwang Love Card app, and offline (on-site) applications will be accepted from the 13th at bank counters linked to the cards or at the local town or township offices of the applicant’s address.
To prevent congestion, both online and offline applications will follow a day-of-the-week system based on the last digit of the birth year during the first week of implementation.
Governor Kim Junsung said, “We hope the COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund will help restore the daily lives of residents exhausted by COVID-19 and revive the local economy. We will spare no administrative support to ensure residents receive the support quickly and conveniently.”
Meanwhile, the county has formed a dedicated task force (TF) for prompt payment and plans to manage all stages including recipient selection, support fund payment, and handling of objections in an integrated manner.
