Namwon-si Conducts 'Safety Inspections of Multi-use Facilities' in Preparation for Chuseok Holiday

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) announced on the 2nd that it will conduct safety inspections of markets, large supermarkets, and other multi-use facilities starting from the 3rd in preparation for the Chuseok holiday.

This safety inspection will be conducted by a private joint inspection team composed of Namwon City, Namwon Fire Station, and the Safety Management Surveillance Team.

In particular, the inspection will focus on nine multi-use facilities, including the intercity and express bus terminals, traditional markets, and large supermarkets, where the use by returning holiday travelers is expected to increase significantly.

The inspection aims to take preventive measures against potential safety hazards that may occur during the Chuseok holiday period, checking areas such as ▲fire prevention facilities ▲deformation and cracks in pillars (load-bearing walls, etc.) ▲proper installation and normal operation of leakage circuit breakers, as well as management, operation, construction, fire safety, electrical, and gas sectors.

The city plans to take on-site corrective actions for facilities requiring repairs or improvements based on the inspection results, and for facilities that cannot be immediately addressed, repairs and reinforcements will be completed before the Chuseok holiday to eliminate potential accident causes in advance.

A city official said, “Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, we ask all citizens to practice small safety measures such as ‘unplugging unnecessary electrical cords and turning off gas valves.’ We also plan to operate a comprehensive disaster situation room during the holiday period and cooperate with related organizations to prepare for any emergencies.”
