LH Nanum Fund Donates 100 Million KRW from Employees to Afghan Special Contributors
Supporting Resettlement of Afghan Special Contributors Using Employee-Established 'Nanum Fund'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 2nd that it has delivered 100 million KRW from the Sharing Fund, created through donations from its employees, to the Korean Red Cross via a non-face-to-face method to support the stable resettlement of Afghan special contributors.
The Afghan nationals, who entered the country under special contributor status and are currently temporarily residing at the National Human Resources Development Institute for Public Officials in Jincheon, Chungbuk, have no domestic living base and face significant difficulties in initial settlement due to unfamiliar environments such as food, language, and culture. Accordingly, LH judged that prompt support was necessary and decided to provide humanitarian aid using the 'Sharing Fund,' a social contribution resource collectively raised by employees through monthly payroll deductions.
The 'LH Sharing Fund' has been continuously used to help neighbors in difficult situations, such as last year's flood damage recovery efforts in affected areas. LH plans to review additional support measures for special contributors, including daily necessities and food assistance.
