Seoul Mokdong Physical Education Entrance Exam Academy Visits Taekwondo Dojang to Encourage Officials
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 2nd, Deputy Minister Jeong Jong-cheol of the Ministry of Education and Second Deputy Minister Kim Jeong-bae of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism visited 'Piston Physical Education Entrance Exam' and 'Taerang Taekwondo' to inspect COVID-19 quarantine measures and encourage workers at indoor sports facilities.
Indoor sports facilities such as Taekwondo gyms, mainly used by elementary and middle school students after school, require close quarantine cooperation between schools and sports facilities because infections can spread back to schools and homes, leading to cluster infections. Accordingly, the two deputy ministers from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Education jointly inspected indoor sports facilities and discussed cooperation plans to strengthen students' compliance with quarantine rules and the management of quarantine at sports facilities.
The two deputy ministers first checked whether the facilities maintained visitor logs, wore masks properly at all times, prohibited eating inside the facilities, ventilated and disinfected twice daily, and complied with density reduction measures. They then listened to the difficulties faced by the workers and users of the respective facilities.
Deputy Minister Jeong said, "Although there are many restrictions due to COVID-19, I ask everyone to take a responsible attitude and strive for quarantine management so that students using indoor sports facilities can participate in physical activities in a safe environment."

Following this, Deputy Minister Kim said, "We are well aware of the difficulties in operating indoor sports facilities due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation and feel very sorry. We are doing our best to reflect the difficulties of the sports facility industry in government policy-making. We ask both workers and users to strictly follow quarantine rules so that indoor sports facilities can be used safely and hygienically in the future."
