Samsung 'Galaxy S22+' Battery Capacity Decreases Compared to Previous Model
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Information about the battery capacity of Samsung Electronics' next flagship smartphone, the 'Galaxy S22,' scheduled for release next year, has been revealed.
On the 1st (local time), IT media outlet GSMArena and others cited the results of China's electronic device certification, the 3C certification, to disclose the battery capacity of the S22 series.
According to the certification results, two new batteries from Samsung SDI passed the 3C certification, and depending on the model number, they are expected to be used in the S22+ and S22 Ultra. The rated capacity of the S22+ battery is expected to be 4370mAh (typical capacity 4500mAh). This is about 300mAh less than the 4800mAh of the 'Galaxy S21+'. On the other hand, the rated capacity of the S22 Ultra is 4855mAh (typical capacity 5000mAh), which is the same capacity as the 'Galaxy S21 Ultra.'
The application processors (AP) for the S22 series are rumored to be Samsung's 'Exynos 2200' and Qualcomm's 'Snapdragon 898.' The Exynos 2200 is a processor Samsung is developing in collaboration with the US semiconductor company AMD, and the graphics processing unit (GPU) to be installed in this product is developed by AMD based on the latest RDNA2 architecture.
Additionally, the S22+ is expected to feature a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel main camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, while the S22 Ultra is expected to be equipped with a 108-megapixel main camera. Furthermore, all products in the series are expected to offer a 120Hz screen refresh rate, stereo speakers, water resistance, and wireless charging capabilities.
