[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City is taking the lead nationwide by collaborating with relief organizations to address blind spots in support for national veterans and their bereaved families through a sponsorship project.
On the 1st, the city announced that it will promote a Happiness Sharing Participation Activation Project to support national veterans and bereaved families facing financial difficulties by partnering with the global relief organization Good Neighbors and receiving sponsorships from local companies and organizations.
This is the first time Good Neighbors has designated specific beneficiaries and carried out donation activities in cooperation with local governments.
The Good Neighbors Incheon Sponsorship Committee plans to use 30% of the funds donated by companies and organizations annually to provide daily necessities and scholarships to veterans and their families.
The city plans to actively encourage donation activities by offering benefits such as interest differential compensation for small and medium-sized enterprise development funds and credit guarantee fee reductions to small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners participating in donations.
Currently, among approximately 35,000 national veterans living in Incheon, about 600 are identified as vulnerable groups receiving government assistance.
