Ssangyong Motor, 7,735 Units Sold in August... 3.6% Decrease Year-on-Year
Impact of Reduced Operating Days and Parts Supply Difficulties Due to Vacation
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] SsangYong Motor announced on the 1st that it sold a total of 7,735 units through domestic and export sales in August. This figure represents a 3.6% decrease compared to the same month last year.
Domestic sales amounted to 4,961 units, down 28.4% from the same month last year. SsangYong Motor cited the reduction in operating days due to summer vacations and parts supply constraints as the reasons for the decline in sales volume.
In fact, the The New Rexton Sports & Khan, launched by SsangYong Motor last April, has continued its strong performance with over 11,000 units sold so far, but there are still about 4,000 units pending delivery domestically.
Exports recorded 2,874 units, an increase of 132.7%, with all models showing steady sales growth. SsangYong Motor added that the export growth is expected to expand further as The New Rexton Sports & Khan, which has received favorable reviews in overseas markets, is successively launched in Chile, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries.
