Chosun University Establishes 'Community Sharing Studio'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Chosun University (President Min Young-don) announced on the 31st that it has opened the doors to the ‘Community Shared Studio,’ equipped with solutions that are open to everyone and easy to use.
On the 30th, Chosun University held an opening ceremony for the Community Shared Studio and pledged to create a growth ecosystem between the university and the community to revitalize and improve the quality of remote education in the local area.
According to Chosun University, the Community Shared Studio includes the ‘Micro Studio Mini,’ which adopts the content production method used in overseas online open courses and educational platforms such as MOOC (Massive Open Online Course, edX, Khan Academy) into a domestic system.
Through specially designed electronic systems and real-time overlay technology, it is possible to produce content using 16 types of solutions, including original digital handwriting, lectures utilizing physical materials, screen recording, and text overlay types, allowing anyone to easily create educational content.
In particular, it is optimized for producing ‘microlearning,’ a modular digital learning content, and ‘flipped learning’ content accompanied by online pre-learning, making it expected to be used not only for students’ learning but also for creating various content and portfolios for job preparation.
Chosun University expects the ‘Community Shared Studio’ to serve as a catalyst that can share Chosun University’s remote education capabilities with the local community and other universities.
President Min said, “In the situation where remote and online education are rapidly spreading due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the Community Shared Studio can play a leading role in online education both inside and outside the region,” adding, “We hope it will become a catalyst that produces and supports high-quality remote education content and revitalizes it.”
