Dongshin University Department of Information Security Wins Special Award and Excellence Paper Award at Academic Conference

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Department of Information Security at Dongshin University announced on the 31st that four enrolled students received a Special Award and an Excellent Paper Award at the ‘2021 Summer Academic Conference’ of the Korean Convergence Security Society (KCGSA).
Kim Chang-seok, a third-year student in the Department of Information Security, submitted a paper on the results of the ‘Vulnerability Analysis of Network Separation Environment and Security Architecture Construction Plan’ conducted by the department’s information protection club ‘HAWKIS’, and received the Special Award.
Fourth-year students Kim Dae-woon, Jo Young-tae, and Choi Jeong-an, who belong to the same club, submitted a paper on the cloud-based malware project results, receiving the Excellent Paper Award along with evaluations that security levels can be enhanced through malware analysis.
Professor Kim Jong-min of the Department of Information Security said, “Students who have improved practical skills necessary for the field through the department’s information protection club projects are also achieving outstanding results at various academic conferences,” and added, “We will do our best to support students in further developing their practical abilities related to their major.”
