Wanju-gun, Opening of the 5th Children and Youth Council

[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] The 5th Wanju County Children and Youth Council, which participates directly in county administration as a subject of the local community to propose and initiate policies, opened on the 31st.

According to Wanju County, 23 children council members and 35 youth council members were appointed to the 5th Wanju County Children and Youth Council, and starting with this opening ceremony, they plan to actively propose and initiate policies.

In particular, the Wanju County Children and Youth Council, which will be active this year, is supported in member selection, education, and policy support by Good Neighbors Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters (Director Kim Kyung-hwan).

Good Neighbors enhanced the capabilities of the children and youth council members by conducting child rights education and participatory budgeting school programs along with the opening.

Wanju County expects more active activities of the Children and Youth Council by strengthening expertise through the participation of Good Neighbors, a child rights specialized NGO.

Park Sung-il, Wanju County Governor, said, “The Children and Youth Council will play an important role in establishing policies from the perspective of children and leading practical changes in the local community,” adding, “We will strive to create a society where children and youth’s wishes become reality, and a city safe from abuse, violence, and neglect, making Wanju County a happy place for children.”
