Gwangju Seo-gu Career Center Expands Career Experience Infrastructure
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Jinro Career Experience Support Center in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (hereinafter Seo-gu Jinro Center) has significantly expanded its career programs in collaboration with local youth organizations, providing career experience opportunities to elementary school students and other youth, thereby expanding its infrastructure.
According to Seo-gu on the 31st, the Seo-gu Jinro Center had previously operated career programs mainly targeting middle and high school students.
This year, the Saturday experience classes were linked with youth cultural centers. In May, leather craft (grip tok) classes were held at Hwajeong Youth Cultural Center, and this month, together with Seo-gu Youth Cultural Center, three sessions of career exploration programs related to the 4th industrial revolution (IoT, robots, etc.) were conducted, with a total participation of about 100 people.
Also, when face-to-face support is difficult due to COVID-19, leather craft kits are produced and provided to schools and related organizations.
In line with becoming an AI leading city, efforts are being made to develop 4th industrial revolution talent programs, including infrastructure building with various IT companies and hosting the 4th Industrial Revolution idea competition called ‘Idea War.’
A representative of the Seo-gu Jinro Center said, “We will do our best at the center to provide students who will lead the future with experiential learning opportunities in various fields of the 4th industrial revolution so that they can become talents suited for the new normal era.”
Meanwhile, the Seo-gu Jinro Center operates various career-related programs such as meetings with professional workers, career counseling, and testing, currently involving 5,869 students from 18 schools, striving to support students’ proper career exploration and self-development.
