SK Chairman Chey Tae-won Files Police Complaint Against YouTuber for 'Spreading False Information'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won’s side has filed a lawsuit against a YouTube channel for defamation.
According to the police on the 31st, Chairman Chey’s side recently filed a complaint with the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul against Channel A, which uploaded a broadcast related to him and Kim Hee-young, the representative of the T&C Foundation and his cohabitant, for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation).
A police official said, "The YouTube channel operator cannot be identified at this time," adding, "The investigation is ongoing, and since the complaint was recently received, the complainant has not yet been questioned."
Through the complaint, Chairman Chey claimed that the channel broadcast clearly false content regarding Kim’s academic background, past history, and family relations, covering her private life in general. The broadcast was made based on content related to Chairman Chey and Kim that had been conclusively ruled false by both the prosecution’s investigation and court judgment.
