"One-Person Household Policies and Information at a Glance" Seoul One-Person Household Portal Opens on the 1st of Next Month
Seoul City and Districts Provide Customized One-Person Household Policies by Residence, Age, and Gender
Location-Based Information on Various Participation Programs Targeting One-Person Households
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 31st that it will open the “Seoul 1-Person Household Portal,” a one-stop information platform where policies and information for one-person households in Seoul can be viewed at a glance, on the 1st of next month.
The portal not only provides a comprehensive range of various support policies implemented by Seoul and its autonomous districts for one-person households, as well as citizen participation programs, events, counseling, and small group activities targeted at one-person households, but also gathers useful information that one-person households can utilize in one place.
In particular, users can select their residential area (autonomous district), age group (under 20 / 20s-30s / 40s-50s / 60 and above), gender (male/female), and category (safety / housing / economy & jobs / loneliness / illness) to find customized information that perfectly fits their needs.
Seoul expects the portal to serve as an integrated information window that brings together scattered and hard-to-find information related to one-person households, providing practical help in daily life.
The main content of the portal is composed of five major categories: project introduction, support systems, participation programs, location information, and notice board. The project introduction section provides an overview of Seoul’s special measures for one-person households, the goals it aims for, and information on related organizations.
The support systems section contains policy information from Seoul and its autonomous districts aimed at resolving the five major anxieties of one-person households: housing, safety, illness, poverty, and loneliness. Users can search for customized information by selecting their residential area, age, and gender.
The participation programs section offers one-stop information on various programs, events, counseling, and small group support operated by the city and autonomous district one-person household support centers. Especially, through a map-based service, it displays what participation programs are available near the user’s location.
Additionally, the portal introduces “Alssul1jap” (Useful Miscellaneous Knowledge for One-Person Households), which collects information that one-person households can use in daily life and provides it in the form of videos and card news. This content will be continuously updated.
Along with the opening of the Seoul 1-Person Household Portal, Seoul will hold a quiz event. Among those who answer the quiz related to one-person households correctly, 300 people will be selected by lottery to receive mobile coffee gift certificates. Furthermore, the city announced that it will also conduct a “Citizen Idea Contest” to resolve the five major anxieties of one-person households and accept applications for the “Safe Door Keeper” program to ensure residential safety for one-person households.
