According to Yonhap News on the 30th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul apprehended soldier A, belonging to an army unit, around 9 a.m. in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu.
The police received a missing soldier report from an army unit in the Gangwon region where A was assigned and, while tracking his location via his mobile phone, found him leaving a PC cafe.
At the time of discovery, A was wearing army fatigues and was not carrying any firearms. It was reported that A had been gambling before enlistment and had been experiencing psychological distress due to money borrowed from a loan company.
