Gwangyang Jungma Library Successfully Hosts 'Public Library Culture Day'
Gift of 'Peace' for Hearts Weary from COVID-19 and Heatwave
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Jeonnam Gwangyang Jungma Library announced on the 30th that it held a ‘Lecture Concert Listening with Viola’ on the evening of the 26th in the library’s children’s room as part of the ‘2021 Public Library Culture Day’ contest project hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Library Culture Promotion Agency.
The concert was performed as a classical trio by the ‘Violalora Trio,’ consisting of violist Jeong Min-gyeong, guitarist Park Yoon-woo, and accordionist Dave Yu.
The audience was naturally captivated by the concert, which included detailed explanations by violist Jeong Min-gyeong, featuring various genres of music such as classical, unfamiliar cross music, and original compositions that might feel difficult to approach.
Since it was a classical trio performance composed of instruments that are usually hard to encounter, family units of citizens showed great interest from the application stage.
Considering the nationwide spread of COVID-19, Jungma Library limited the audience to about 30 people and strictly adhered to preventive measures such as temperature checks and entry log registration during the performance.
A citizen who watched the performance said, “Our whole family was able to heal through a performance accompanied by various stories from the Baroque era to contemporary music,” and added, “I hope there will be more opportunities to watch high-quality classical performances in Gwangyang City.”
