Insert Waste PET Bottles into Smart Crusher for Reward Coins, Reducing Carbon Emissions
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A fresh project is unfolding to increase PET bottle recycling and reduce carbon emissions.
Companies in Busan and Yangsan have joined hands to revitalize the local economy and promote PET bottle recycling rates.
Daesun Brewery signed a business agreement with the eco-friendly company TR at Daesun Brewery's Busan Gijang factory on the 20th.
On the 28th, the two companies held the launch ceremony of TR's PET bottle crusher ‘Dollydo’ at Cheong-eoram Apartment in Yangsan, according to a statement on the 30th.
The previous agreement ceremony was attended by Daesun Brewery Executive Director Cha Jae-young and TR CEO Ha Mi-seon.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ exploring joint promotional plans for PET bottle recycling projects using the PET bottle crusher Dollydo ▲ cooperation in favoring locally produced products including Daesun Brewery products ▲ promoting local products through Dollydo products and applications.
Through this agreement, Daesun Brewery will promote its products as PET bottle images used in TR's Dollydo business. They plan to widely publicize PET bottle recycling.
TR's Dollydo is a smart PET bottle crusher that provides ‘reward coins’ when PET bottles are inserted, encouraging voluntary participation from citizens.
The crushed PET bottle flakes are remade into plastic raw materials, which can reduce annual carbon emissions from PET bottle incineration by nearly half.
The launch ceremony held at 10 a.m. on the 28th at Cheong-eoram Apartment in Yangsan was attended by Daesun Brewery Yangsan Branch Manager Park Sang-hyun, TR CEO Ha Mi-seon, apartment resident representatives, PET bottle flake purchasing company Aesudal Industrial, and YMCA Raonatti S.E.T team executives and staff.
The process of inserting PET bottles into Dollydo to obtain reward coins was demonstrated on site.
Daesun Brewery CEO Jo Woo-hyun said, “Local leading companies have united their intentions for PET bottle recycling and proceeded with the agreement,” adding, “We will strive for eco-friendly management to leave a cleaner earth for future generations.”
