Suncheon-si Conducts 'Online Free Education' to Eliminate Educational Blind Spots
Over 28,000 Educational Contents Loaded Across More Than 2,000 Courses
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 30th that it will introduce an 'online education program' with high educational accessibility so that any citizen can engage in continuous learning, and will provide free educational services starting next month.
The free online education program consists of about 2,000 courses and approximately 28,000 educational contents in areas such as IT, lifestyle hobbies, foreign languages, humanities and liberal arts, self-development, and mandatory education, and any Suncheon citizen can participate in the learning.
In particular, education is possible not only on personal computers but also on smartphones, eliminating educational blind spots. Additionally, about 2,000 courses can be repeatedly studied without limits, and learners' study histories can be viewed at a glance.
New courses are continuously added and updated, and learners can also check popular or recommended courses, allowing them to grasp the latest educational trends at a glance.
Citizens who wish to take courses can apply for the desired courses on the 'Lifelong Education Portal' on the Suncheon City Culture and Health Center website.

A city official stated, "By introducing free online education, we will expand learning participation opportunities for educationally vulnerable groups and work to eliminate educational gaps between regions and social classes," adding, "In the future, we plan to additionally develop and distribute educational content utilizing Suncheon's history and resources."
