Go stated at the National Assembly’s Political Affairs Committee confirmation hearing that day, "I did not intervene in the process."
Go’s son’s internship at Korea Investment & Securities from February to March last year was revealed, sparking controversy over preferential treatment. Kim Nam-gu, chairman and CEO of Korea Financial Group, the parent company of Korea Investment & Securities, is Go’s brother-in-law. This has led to suspicions that Go’s son may have used the "uncle-in-law chance."
Go said, "It was not an internship with the premise of employment," but added, "However, from the public’s perspective, there seems to be some aspect like that."
