[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Choi Young-ae, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, stated, "We greatly welcome our government's swift and safe domestic transfer of local Afghan collaborators and their families."
On the 27th, Chairperson Choi said in a statement, "I hope the government's special measures for the local Afghan collaborators and their families who have been transferred domestically will be successfully implemented to ensure their stable settlement in the country, and I expect special protection for children, including education and medical support."

She continued, "If Afghans residing in the country apply for refugee status to our government, I hope the review will be conducted according to the Refugee Act, with full consideration of the harsh situation in Afghanistan," adding, "I hope that societal awareness of refugees improves and that our country enhances its responsibility and international standing as the first Asian country to enact a Refugee Act."
