Goheung-gun to Host This Year's Book Report Contest
Comforting Hearts Weary from COVID-19 and Building Emotional Rapport Among Residents
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Song Gwi-geun) announced on the 27th that it will hold a 'Book Report Contest' for residents aged elementary school and above to comfort hearts tired from COVID-19 and to form an emotional consensus among residents, in celebration of September, the season ideal for reading.
The submission period is from the 30th of this month to October 7th, and the submission method is to read the book selected as this year's book by Jeollanam-do, write a book report according to the form, and submit it by mail or email.
This year's books are 'Gangnam Sajangnim (Elementary)', 'Nokdubat-ui Eunhasu (Middle and High School)', 'Areumdawoom-eun Jikineun Geos-ida (General Literature)', and 'Gonggan-i Mandeun Gonggan (General Non-fiction)', which can be borrowed from nearby libraries.
The contest categories are divided into four sections: lower grades of elementary school, upper grades of elementary school, middle and high school, and general public, selecting a total of 12 winners including the top 3 in each category.
The results will be announced on the Goheung County Library website and notified individually after judging in mid-October, and all winners will receive the Goheung County Governor's Award, with the winning works submitted to the '29th Jeollanam-do Reading King Selection Contest.'

A county official said, "Through this contest, we hope that residents tired of daily life such as social distancing due to COVID-19 will feel the joy of reading books and that it will help enhance humanistic sensitivity through writing activities."
